A well played but fantastically well kept Gibson ES175 from 1988 in good all original condition. A stunning example in tobacco sunburst with its original hardshell case. This is an iconic guitar and now no longer made by Gibson so these old examples are a must have for any arch top enthusiast!

The guitar has been used by a touring R&B musician for around 3 decades and has been played all across the UK and Europe. Despite this the guitar is in lovely condition with the pick guard repair being the only real notable area of damage. The guitar has no breaks, cracks or repairs and the electronics and frets remain original. It is worth mentioning that the frets do show some wear and are a little low. I would saw that there is still at least one good level and re-crown in them however, should you wish to have that done. At current point though it is playing great with some 11-48 round wounds and would be excellent with a good set of flats wounds!

There is a degree of 'satining' to some areas of the back and arm rest on the guitar from many gigs, I have tried to show this in the photos as best as possible. There are other marks across the body but nothing substantial. The neck remains in good condition and is lovely and smooth for many hours of playing.

The hardware remains all original and functions well and the truss rod works flawlessly in both directions. The guitar has had a full setup in our in house workshop and is playing great with a good action and no buzzing or choking at any point on the fingerboard. The guitar is very lightweight for a large arch top and is one of the lightest we have had at a shade under 7lb.

All in all a great vintage Gibson arch top and an instrument that is certainly ready for another three decades of shows and recording, a real solid guitar. This guitar is ready to go with a 6 month warranty!
