1986 ESP JAPAN M-V - Metallic Surf Green - Preowned

1986 ESP Japan M-V Ex style build in metallic surf green. A pretty rare one for the UK market and in general! Super cool limited edition build from 1986 that was made exclusively for the UK and European market. This example is in fair to well used condition and is playing very well with a few changes. 

The guitar now has an added locking nut as well as trem change from the original ESP black Stratocaster style trem. It now features what resembles a Bendmaster trem which featured on many of the BC Rich Platinum series guitars made in Korea. It functions as should but as many will know with these types and eras of guitars, they aren't the best! The trem should easily be able to be swapped back to the Strat trem if desired and the locking nut appears to be lightly glued on, however given the extreme string angle of the banana headstock, the locking nut actually helps very well with keeping all of the strings going over the nut at a good angle!

Condition wise there are bumps and bruises all over the body, I have done the best I can to photograph these. Not the worst spiky warrior we have ever seen but it has certainly seen some life! It is also worth noting that a second strap button hole has been added on the back of the guitar and left un-filled.

The rest of the guitar is in good original order including the pickup, electronics, jack and machine heads and all of the dates match up in the neck pocket. The guitar retains an original gig bag, nothing special but is what a lot of these Japanese guitars come with. 

The guitar plays well and setup nicely with a good low action and no buzzing. The rosewood board is lovely and the fretwork is top quality. The guitar has been setup with a set of D'addario 9-46 strings in E and it is a ripper as you would expect, a great feeling neck on this one! The truss rod functions well on this example also!
