When performed right, they’re a real thing of magic. They can take the humble single line and transform it into a majestic, soaring melody.
Of course, Thin Lizzy springs to mind immediately!? Along with the Allman Brothers, Queen, The Eagles, The Yardbirds, and Iron Maiden to name just a few.
Although famously they’re played in rock, the origins of dual guitar harmonies actually come from bluegrass and country!
When guitar players like Charlie Christian would play in harmony or unison with other guitars, banjos, fiddles, lap steels and other instruments.
Here’s what Chris has to say about the PRS S2 McCarty 594 Eriza Verde:
"Well, this 594 certainly catches your eye on the shop floor amongst all the other great guitars, not least because of the amazing lime green finish, rosewood neck, white faux bone binding and vintage tuners, but also because when you pick it up it feels like a guitar you’ve been playing for years.
Loaded with 58/15 “S” pickups, the 594 has a warm, vintage-inspired tone. The coil tap also makes it easy and versatile to access the tone you need at your fingertips. Best of all it’s currently £200 off in the sale!" Chris

Here’s what Sam has to say about the SG Special:
"I chose the Gibson SG Special for this track as they’re my favourite electric guitar! You get incredible fret access from a Gibson SG and they’re also really lightweight yet still giving that classic Gibson growl!
The 24.75” scale length is shorter than you’d find on a Fender guitar which makes the strings a bit more slinky and easy to bend, giving easier playability. Also they are just the best, coolest looking electric guitars ever (in my opinion!).
The model I’m playing in the video is a second hand, preowned Gibson so it is excellent value for money and set up ready to go to its new home! Available to buy now online and in store!" Sam
